Events Series

CHS Greece ES 2020 1An integral part of the Center’s outreach is the annual Events Series. The Events Series, one of the longest-running CHS Greece activities, addresses the local community of the Argolis region and Greece in general, through a series of lectures and panel discussions, as well as exhibitions, performances and presentations. Over the years, the Events Series initiative has become a point of reference for the cultural life both of the local community and several other Greek cities.

 Events Series 2020

This year’s cycle focuses on the topic of “Eutopia, Dystopia, Utopia: Environmental aesthetics and politics”. On this topic, we seek to raise and discuss the following issues: the natural and built environment, as an experience and as a source of inspiration and imagination; political, philosophical and anthropological approaches of the environment in different historical periods; scientific, theological and ethical aspects of climate change.

As in previous years, the Events Series 2020 takes place in different cities of Greece, from January to June 2020. Of the six events that make up this year’s cycle, two take place at the premises of CHS Greece in Nafplio, and for the rest the Center cooperates with renowned institutions in Thessaloniki, Rethymno, in Athens, and Patras.

The program of the Events Series is usually announced in December, and the events' annual cycle ends in June. Please find here the full 2020 Events Series program (PDF).

CHS Greece shares videos of the Series lectures through its website. Recordings and discussions are available here.
